This apartment complex in Savannah, Georgia is designed as a city within a city, creating a residential environment that promotes community, safety, and comfort while maintaining a sense of openness. The project consists of five primary buildings connected by pedestrian pathways and anchored by a central circulation core, establishing a clear and active internal network. Drawing from Savannah’s historic urban fabric, the design translates the city’s orthogonal grid into the building organization while contrasting it with curvilinear forms inspired by the surrounding natural landscape. Native materials such as brick ground the project in its regional context, while its location along the Savannah River allows interior and exterior spaces to engage expansive waterfront views, reinforcing the connection between the built environment and nature.
